REPORTS TO : Director of Facilities

POSITION SUMMARY : Working closely with other members of Facilities, provide a variety of services and support to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Jack C. Taylor Music Center. A full-time position, primarily performing support functions and administrative work, this role requires a flexible 40 hour a week schedule, including evenings and weekends. Pay Range is $20-$22 / hour.

This is an exciting time to join the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, as we have just returned to the symphony hall. The ideal candidate will be ready to solve problems and handle a variety of challenges daily to support the team, our guests, and make music accessible for all.

RESPONSIBILITES :

  • Provide timely support that includes responding to work orders generated through the online system, updating schedules, producing post orders, pre-event set up, and other daily and weekly tasks.
  • Be available and visible at public performances, private events and rehearsals to assist as needed. Assist with coordinating and directing 3rd-party security, cleaning, and event staff.
  • Coordinate parking services and schedules with providers, employees and guests. Schedule, train, & direct 3rd-party parking attendants.
  • General administrative work such as paying invoices, generating check requests, and creating event documents.
  • May perform some basic repairs and handle simple maintenance requests.

REQUIREMENTS :

  • High School diploma equivalency.
  • 2-3 years+ of job-related experience.
  • Must be able to work a schedule primarily Wednesday-Sunday (regularly 10am-7pm with approximately two later evenings per week).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly communicate and collaborate with fellow team members, musicians, guests, and vendors.
  • Ability to be a “problem solver” and able to take initiative and do whatever is necessary to make things work.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools. Basic knowledge of building operations. Ability to lift 20-40 lb. on a regular basis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Work, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Must have reliable transportation to ensure very high level of dependability.
