job_description.job_card.job_descriptionWork in a 30-bed Med / Surg unit within an acute care hospital setting Cares for a mixed medical and post-op / surgical patient population Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 5 12-hour night shifts (6 : 45 PM – 7 : 15 AM) with every other weekend required Required to work 4 weekend shifts within each 4-week schedule Assigned to float first, including between Med / Surg units and to Tele at a 1 : 4 ratio Uses Cerner EMR system Portable tele box used as needed; must be able to read and interpret dysrhythmias One shift of unit-specific orientation provided Team includes clinical supervisor for break relief and nurse aides supporting the unit Hospitalist, RT, and pharmacy services are available 24 / 7 Expect to work assigned holidays as part of staff rotation Navy scrubs are required First time travelers are not eligible for this assignment Candidates may not have been employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health within the past year Holiday requested time off will be considered but cannot be guaranteed Active CA RN license required at time of application Current BLS certification required COVID-19 vaccination required Minimum 2-3 years of Med / Surg experience and prior travel nursing experience Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythms; must pass Relias Dysrhythmia exam before confirmation Must provide two professional references : one supervisor from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire Copy of driver’s license required for consideration Must successfully pass sterile technique testing for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing change during orientation High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
