Electrical Engineer – Engineering
On-site position in Lawrenceville, GA.
The Electrical Engineer will support the commercialization process by designing electrical power distribution circuits and electronic control systems, developing verification and validation test plans and improving existing products. This position will be responsible for creating electrical schematics and PCB layouts on time and satisfying all product specifications and regulatory requirements.
Essential Functions
- Develop, modify, review, and approve electrical designs using SolidWorks Electrical or Altium Designer
- Develop electrical and electronic discipline project plans in accordance with Product Roadmaps and overall project schedules
- Coordinate across multi-functional groups to ensure projects are completed to meet project, regulatory and safety requirements.
- Report status of active projects
- Develop, update and maintain DFMEA's and help in the development of PFMEA's and the process control plans.
- Design and develop product component parts, product sub-assemblies and top-level assemblies according to requirements and standards.
- Safeguard product performance, reliability and functionality.
- Develop test methods and procedures that are not covered by recognized agency requirements. Administer and carry out test programs with lab technicians and team engineers.
- Generate and manage electrical design documentation, including block diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and PCB layouts
- Document designs using organizational standards and revision control processes
- Interfaces with outside vendors for component selection, manufacturing, and assembly.
- Establishing relationships with clients, vendors, suppliers, other professionals, and expanding networks.
Position Qualifications
BS Electrical Engineering or BS EET or equivalent experience5-10 years minimum designing electrical circuitsProficient using E-CAD systems such as Altium, Cadence, SolidWorks Electrical, etc.Knowledge of PLC-based electromechanical control systemsDemonstrated competence designing power distribution circuitsExtensive practical experience implementing new electrical designsExperience with power distribution circuit design, signal integrity, and grounding techniquesExcellent problem-solving and analytical abilitiesStrong communication skillsPrefer knowledge of x-ray producing devices, radiation shielded enclosure, x-ray imaging devices, radiation detectors and science of materials.Perform other duties as required.Compensation
