BridgeTower Media is seeking a Special Products Editor to manage the creation of special products in print and online to meet the expectations of our subscribers and grow new market share. Duties & Responsibilities Generate story ideas, assign writing and photography, use AI to create awards profiles, edit stories, and manage and provide creative vision for layout, cover art and design of special products.
Create budgets for freelance costs for special products and recruit a stable of proficient freelance reporters and photographers to work on special products.
Coordinate with clients and internal staff to produce polished, professional publications in a variety of subjects and formats for a wide range of readers.
Collaborate with events team to ensure all event-related marketing and timelines are followed in each event-related publication.
Edit event letters, emails, winner's lists, print, digital and email marketing, event scripts and video scripts.
Create email marketing and edit marketing and promotional materials as needed.
Identify new opportunities for Custom / Partner Products. Work closely with the sales team to close this business and create new revenue streams.
Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, or relevant work experience; law degree desired but not required.
4+ years of experience in the news industry with editing, writing and reporting experience.
AP Stylebook knowledge.
Strong computer skills and digital news management, including Word, Microsoft Excel, WordPress, and Adobe software (Photoshop, Adobe Reader and Acrobat).
Excellent organizational skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Reliable home internet connection with minimum 50 Mbps up / 10 Mbps down.
