Overview Lead, Procurement Strategy at Nextdoor. Nextdoor is the essential neighborhood network connecting neighbors, public agencies, and businesses across 340,000+ neighborhoods in 11 countries.
We’re looking for a proactive, detail-oriented individual contributor to shape and manage strategic vendor relationships (including AWS and other technical partners) and to build scalable procurement processes that support business growth and financial performance.
Your Role Lead strategic vendor management with a focus on long-term relationships and contract optimization for AWS and other major technology partners
Own and optimize end-to-end procurement processes, including negotiations, renewals, and vendor performance management
Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to align procurement with business objectives, drive operational efficiencies, mitigate risk, and enable scalability
Prepare and maintain vendor financial models to support sourcing decisions, partnering with Finance
Collaborate with Corporate Finance on cross-functional projects to guide investment decisions and resource allocation
Implement best practices for Nextdoor’s procurement function and enforce policies with cross-functional partners
Support leadership with vendor-related reporting, analysis, and strategic initiatives
What You’ll Bring to the Team Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field
4+ years of relevant experience in procurement, vendor management, or sourcing, preferably in a technology-focused environment
Demonstrated success managing and negotiating large, complex vendor contracts (AWS or other major technical vendors strongly preferred)
Exceptional project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Strong financial and analytical skills with the ability to model deal scenarios and identify key drivers of cost / value
Experience and / or interest in working with corporate finance teams
Familiarity with procurement software and tools
Eagerness to explore and apply AI and emerging technologies to reimagine how work gets done
Rewards Compensation, benefits, perks, and recognition programs comprise Nextdoor’s total rewards package. The starting salary for this role is expected to range from $125,000-$155,000 annualized, with potential for higher based on proficiency. We are currently exploring candidates who are in office or remote; compensation will vary by geography. An equity grant with quarterly vesting is expected as part of the compensation package. Total compensation varies by skills, experience, and qualifications.
