As we continue to grow, TES is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our expanding Cookstown team.

Overview

  • Job Title : Mechanical Design Engineer
  • Reporting to : Design Manager
  • Business / Division : Water
  • Location : Cookstown, Co. Tyrone
  • Contract Type : Full-time, Permanent
  • Salary : Competitive, Negotiable depending on experience

Essential Experience

  • Mechanical engineering qualification (HNC / HND or similar)
  • 4+ years' experience in a similar mechanical design role
  • Working within a multidisciplinary design team
  • Experience using 3D Modelling software (Revit, Inventor, Solid Works etc)
  • Experience of fabrication design
  • Innovative approach to work

    • Desired Experience

  • Experience using AEC software such as : Revit, Plant 3D, Navisworks
  • Previous experience of multidiscipline projects within the Mechanical / Electrical Engineering sector of the water industry
  • Capable of contributing to the commercial management of M&E works including assisting with work estimates etc.
  • Knowledge of ISO19650 BIM standards

    • The Role

  • Mechanical design of water / wastewater projects in line with client specifications
  • Production of Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's) using Plant 3D
  • Production and co-ordination of 3D models using Revit
  • Production of general arrangement drawings, sections & elevations
  • Production of pump calculations, equipment schedules, technical specifications
  • Production of fabrication detail drawings for site installations
  • Liaise with suppliers and sub-contractors to obtain quotations for equipment
  • Preparation of technical design submissions for client review
  • Attend regular project design and site meetings
  • Liaise with process engineers, electrical engineers and ICA Engineers on projects
  • Comply with all ISO Quality & Environmental policies and procedures, and all health and safety rules
  • Enjoy the full life cycle of a project from initial specification to commissioning
