Base Pay Range

$80,000.00 / yr - $100,000.00 / yr

Position Summary

The Litigation Paralegal will assist attorneys in managing all aspects of litigation defense cases from inception through trial and appeal. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and experience handling a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and prepare legal documents including pleadings, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, correspondence, and motions.
  • Manage case files electronically and in hard copy, ensuring all documents are properly organized and filed.
  • Assist attorneys with case management and trial preparation, including exhibit lists, witness files, trial binders, and subpoenas.
  • Coordinate depositions, mediations, and hearings with clients, witnesses, experts, and opposing counsel.
  • Review and summarize medical records, deposition transcripts, discovery responses, and other evidence.
  • Conduct factual and legal research using court databases and online resources.
  • Prepare and file court documents in state and federal courts, including e-filing.
  • Maintain and track litigation calendars, court deadlines, and hearing dates.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel.
  • Provide administrative support to attorneys as needed to ensure timely and effective case handling.

Qualifications

  • Education : Bachelor's degree and / or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program.
  • Experience : Minimum of 5 years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably in insurance defense, personal injury, or general civil litigation.
  • Skills :
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with document management and case management software (e.g., iManage, Clio, NetDocuments, TrialDirector, etc.).
  • Knowledge of court filing rules and procedures in state and federal courts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Experience supporting attorneys in trial preparation and attending trials.
  • Familiarity with insurance defense matters, including automobile liability, premises liability, product liability, and professional malpractice.
  • Experience with e-discovery platforms and procedures.
