Position Overview
The Office Assistant will provide essential administrative and clerical support to ensure the smooth daily operations of 1st Step Healthcare Training. This role is critical in maintaining an organized, professional, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a school setting and possess strong organizational and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Greet and assist students, parents, and visitors, serving as the first point of contact for the office.
Answer phones, manage emails, and handle general correspondence.
Assist with student enrollment, records management, and file maintenance.
Coordinate scheduling, class rosters, and communication between staff and students.
Support instructors and administrators with clerical tasks and preparation of class materials.
Maintain office supplies and equipment, ensuring resources are readily available.
Assist in planning school events, orientations, and student activities.
Uphold confidentiality with student and staff information.
Perform additional office duties as assigned to support smooth operations.
Required Qualifications
Previous experience as an assistant in a school setting (required).
Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and / or Google Workspace.
Professional demeanor with the ability to handle sensitive information.
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training preferred.
