This job is responsible for performing risk assessment and repayment capacity analysis (i.e., financial, borrower, industry, etc.) and preparing transaction justification for moderately complex / complex transactions with limited oversight. Key responsibilities include documenting credit analysis, independently assessing historic and projected borrower financial information, evaluating adherence to policy and procedure, providing loan structure analysis and recommendations, and monitoring portfolio performance. The Sr. Credit Underwriter is responsible for the ongoing management and primary accountability for all monitoring and maintenance activities for an assigned portfolio of commercial real estate loans, primarily consisting of larger / complex client relationships. This role completes credit monitoring responsibilities with minimal oversight and demonstrates strong judgment, sound credit decisioning skills and is an active participant with the Credit Team in the credit approval process for complex clients / transactions. They monitor the operating performance and financial conditions of existing commercial real estate facilities to proactively meet scheduled monitoring deadlines and identify issues and opportunities. The Sr. Credit Underwriter delivers financial, industry, economic and other analysis to facilitate decision making and inform risk rating recommendations, while also ensuring adherence to credit policies, guidelines, and applicable regulatory requirements. Additionally, the Sr. Credit Underwriter is responsible for providing underwriting analysis and approval recommendations for various Borrower requests related to assigned client base / facilities. The Sr. Credit Underwriter provides ongoing coaching and support to other Credit Products team members.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates credit worthiness and provides analysis and decisioning on whether a client should receive a credit facility
• Partners with Credit Officers, Relationship Management, and Risk teammates to assess and deliver credit solutions
• Monitors the client's operating performance and financial condition, proactively identifying issues and opportunities
• Delivers financial modeling, loan structure, industry, economic, and other analysis to team members to support the loan decision-making process
• Ensures adherence to credit policies, guidelines, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements
• Responsible for post-closing credit activities including processing approvals for pre-approved extensions and minor modifications, and ensuring associated legal documents are properly documented.
• Responsible for all monitoring and maintenance activities on an assigned portfolio including risk rating scorecards, annual sponsor / guarantor financial reviews, covenant compliance, construction monitoring, interest reserve analysis, lease reviews, loan reporting, and site inspections.
• Collateral analysis, sponsor / guarantor financial analysis, and review of related legal documents.
• Credit facilities primarily include bridge, term, and construction loans for commercial real estate developers and investors. The PMO is responsible to drive process simplification and improvement under the direction of management.
• Serves as a mentor / coach to junior UW's and assists Credit Officer / Sr. Credit Manager with credit approvals and other workflow matters.

Pay range $99,100.00 - $168,900.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.
