About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Must-Have :

• 1-2 years of telemetry experience, including experience in an acute care setting

Description :

This unit operates as a mixed Med Surg and progressive care unit.

The facility has 18 beds, with telemetry and 6 PCU-capable beds, all private rooms.

Staff may be required to care for COVID-19 patients if necessary.

Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 4 for Med Surg and 1 : 3 for stepdown / PCU.

Charge nurses will manage 0-2 patients as necessary.

Nurse managers will conduct rounds but do not provide patient care.

Support staff on the unit includes telemetry techs, charge nurses, health unit coordinators, and patient care technicians.

Certified nursing assistants (CNAs) will split the floor, each taking up to 9 patients.

Telemetry monitoring will utilize Phillips monitors, located in a dedicated tech room.

Nurses are expected to validate monitor tech interpretations and document every 4 hours or more frequently as needed.

Common diagnoses include AMI, stroke / TIA, pneumonia, renal issues, AFib with RVR, SIRS, and diabetes.

Respiratory therapists and pharmacy services are available 24 / 7.

Weekend shifts will be required every other weekend.

Floating to all Med Surg units may be necessary.
