Job Title

Laundry Attendants assist with the provision of laundry cleaning activities in the central laundry facility that will ensure the timely delivery of clean linens to the hotel(s) and food and beverage facilities operated by the company. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to : sorting, classifying, washing, drying, and ironing, folding, and packaging clean linens in accordance with established standards. The Laundry Attendant will also provide general support and assistance to the department, leadership, and company.

Shifts can vary, but are generally between 7 : 00 am - 3 : 30 pm. Occasionally, shifts are 6 : 00 am - 3 : 30 pm. Weekend availability is required.

Requirements :

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma preferred, but not required.
  • Previous experience working in a commercial / industrial laundry and / or housekeeping environment preferred.
  • Ability to operate commercial laundry machinery and equipment.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to effectively multi-task, organize, plan, and prioritize is an essential function of this job.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and take initiative where appropriate.
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proven commitment to delivering world class customer service.
  • Must have basic English language comprehension, writing, and speaking skills, and be able to respond appropriately to requests and inquiries.
  • Ability to follow directions and instructions.
  • Must have a valid NC Driver's License with clean driving record & be at least 18 years of age to drive box truck.

Essential Job Duties :

  • Count items for the day and inventory outgoing items
  • Maintain inventories for damage / loss
  • Inspect for quality control according to established standards
  • Sorts and properly stores all soiled linen; weighs linen and places into appropriate carts
  • Manages flow and processing of linens in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Sorts and separates damaged or stained linen, to be repaired or converted to be used as rags
  • Operates ironing and folding machinery.
  • Observes safety rules and maintains a safe environment
  • Observes laundry equipment operation and reports needed repairs or unsafe conditions to supervisor
  • Maintains facility, linen carts and supplies in a neat and organized manner to department standards
  • Complete all necessary administrative work related to receipt, processing, delivery, inspections, etc.
  • May drive box truck across Estate locations to deliver laundry as needed.

    • Physical Requirements :

  • Able to lift, carry and pull / push up to 50-75 lbs on a regular basis; ability to pull / push up to 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Requires standing / walking / bending / stooping throughout the shift (8 hours).
  • Must be able to bend, reach, and kneel.
  • Ability to twist / grip items.
  • Must be able to respond to visual and audible cues, and understand and address issues as needed.
  • Must be able to work with varying noise levels.
  • Have the ability to work in warm / hot temperatures.
