ARC Command Center Bookkeeper

We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our ARC Command Center team. In this role, you will be responsible for processing various financial transactions using The Salvation Army's accounting software, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, journal entries, purchasing / procurement, POS reports, daily sales reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.
Pay Rate : $20 / Hour, 36.25 Hours / Week
After 90 days - 1 day a week remote
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Salvation Army accounting processes
- Post journal entries, analyze financial information, and prepare financial reports
- Match store deposits to daily sales and credit card postings
- Process daily reconciliations for ARCs and stores
- Code, review, scan, and post accounts payable invoices and process checks
- Prepare AR invoices for internal and external vouchers billing and reconciliation
- Obtain and maintain vendor W-9 forms and banking information for ACH payments
- Prepare store sales, rags sales, and vehicle sales reports
- Assist with store and operating account bank reconciliations
- Support internal audit preparations as needed
- Identify and post incoming wire transfers
- Maintain open AR files and communicate with customers and the ARCC Accountant
- Assist with preparing eligible vendors for year-end 1099 processing
- Work with ARC Accountants and the Director of Finance to ensure timely month-end and year-end closing
Qualifications
High school diploma plus a minimum of two years related accounting / bookkeeping experienceExceptional computer skills including Office 365, Word, and ExcelExperience with financial, point of sale, and payroll programsStrong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracyExcellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlinesStrong communication skills and ability to maintain confidential informationAdaptability and flexibility in a dynamic work environmentAdditional Requirements
