Mechanical Apprenticeship Program

Program Overview :

Gopher Resource has a very rare opportunity for 2 mechanical apprentices to join the maintenance team at our Eagan plant. Working alongside fully qualified Mechanics to learn the skills of the trade, the apprenticeship program is designed to train and prepare apprentices to be Maintenance Mechanics at Gopher Resource. Starting pay for apprentices is $36.45 / hour and increases to $37.95 / hour on December 1, 2025. This position is also eligible for full benefits including healthcare, matching 401k, PTO, bonus potential, and tuition reimbursement.

The apprenticeship program is 24 months of on-the-job training, classroom training, and self-study, with the goal of qualifying the apprentice to meet the requirements for Maintenance Mechanic I within the company upon successful completion of the program.

Work Schedule :

During the course of this program, apprentices will work a variety of schedules which will include Monday-Friday days, 6am-6pm on a 4 on / 4 off schedule, and 6pm-6am on a 4 on / 4 off schedule.

Mechanical Apprenticeship Responsibilities :

• Assist with a variety of duties including installing equipment, maintaining mechanical systems, and repairing machinery.
• Complete classroom training and self-guided study relating to various mechanical systems and components of the plant.
