- The Payroll and Benefits Team Lead oversees payroll and benefits administration in a specific location to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant employee remuneration and benefits. This role requires strong knowledge of payroll regulations, benefits management, and employee satisfaction strategies, aligned with global and local HR policies.
Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, and SBM Offshore policies. Monitor payroll outputs, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely submission of tax filings, social security, and statutory payments. Collaborate with HR, Finance, and external vendors for smooth payroll operations.Administer benefits programs including health insurance, retirement plans, leave policies, and wellness initiatives. Review and update benefits offerings to meet market trends and employee needs. Partner with providers to ensure high service levels and cost efficiency, and communicate benefits information effectively to employees.Mentor and guide the payroll and benefits team, supporting their growth. Allocate responsibilities, monitor performance, and address skill gaps through training. Foster a collaborative environment aligned with SBM Offshore’s values.Ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and audits. Stay current on labor laws and benefits trends to minimize risks. Support audits with accurate documentation and reports.Identify opportunities to streamline processes using technology and best practices. Develop KPIs, dashboards, and reports for HR and management. Contribute insights to HR strategic initiatives based on payroll and benefits data.Education
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field. Payroll or benefits-specific certifications are advantageous.Experience
Minimum 6 years proven experience in payroll and benefits management, preferably in oil and gas or offshore industries.Expertise in social security reporting and regulations, ensuring accurate submissions.Hands-on experience with payroll systems compliant with local laws.Leadership and team management skills.Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., SAP, Workday).Strong knowledge of local labor laws, tax regulations, and benefits frameworks.Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.Advanced MS Excel and payroll software proficiency.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; fluency in English and relevant local language.Tools and data governance, diversity and inclusion, organization change and development, learning and development, payroll, change management.
