Position Summary
The Restorative Aide (CNA) assists residents in maintaining or improving their physical and functional abilities under the supervision of licensed nursing and therapy staff. This role bridges nursing and rehabilitation services to ensure residents reach their highest level of independence, strength, and mobility. The Restorative Aide follows individualized care plans, performs restorative nursing programs, and documents resident progress in accordance with federal, state, and facility regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Carry out restorative nursing programs as established by the therapy and nursing departments (e.g., ambulation, range of motion, splinting, ADL retraining, feeding programs, and toileting schedules).
Encourage and assist residents to perform activities independently whenever possible.
Observe, report, and document resident participation, progress, and any changes in condition to nursing or therapy staff.
Provide assistance with daily living activities as needed, maintaining the dignity and comfort of residents.
Maintain restorative equipment and ensure that it is clean, safe, and properly stored.
Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions regarding restorative needs.
Support a safe and therapeutic environment, adhering to infection control and safety procedures.
Assist in training and educating other CNAs in restorative techniques as directed.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation per facility policy and Kentucky state regulations.
Demonstrate a positive, respectful attitude toward residents, families, and staff.
Requirements of the Restorative Aide :
Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Kentucky .
High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Basic understanding of restorative nursing principles and therapeutic exercises.
Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form.
Compassionate, patient, and reliable with strong interpersonal skills.
Salary / Wage Range
Compensation for the role will depend on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and may fall outside of the range shown.
