Position Summary
Respond to guest repair requests and communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues with minimal supervision. Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication. Visually inspect tools, equipment, and machines. Carry equipment (e.g., tools, radio) and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and buildings. Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed. Communicate daily activities and issues to other shifts using approved programs and standards. Demonstrate proficiency in one or more of the following areas : air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic / electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building management. Ensure safe use of hand and power tools and related materials. Basic ability to repair or replace PVC copper pipe (including soldering). Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on equipment (e.g., pumps, motors), plumbing (e.g., plunging toilets, unclogging drains), electrical items (lamps, cords, switches, outlets), and guestroom items. Program TVs and perform housekeeping and engineering-related duties. Assist with surface preparation and painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb and A / C filter replacement, and clean the work area after repairs or painting. Use the Lockout / Tagout system before maintenance work. Maintain knowledge of engineering programs related to preventive maintenance, energy management, and other systems, including associated devices. Perform mid-level troubleshooting of hotel MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems. Demonstrate the ability to train and mentor other engineers and perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities, including readings and rounds.

Qualifications
Education : High school diploma or GED and vocational / technical background. Related experience : general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation, and painting. At least 2 years of hotel engineering / maintenance experience. Supervisory experience : none. License / Certification : Valid Driver's License.
Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification. Must meet state and federal certification / licensing requirements.
