Overview

Teach with Purpose : Our teachers play a key role in bringing to life the academic and cultural visions of our schools. This includes daily lesson planning, intentional curriculum design, and regular data analysis to help all students learn and grow. Our teachers also implement Social Emotional Learning lessons and Restorative Practices to create a joyful, inclusive classroom community.

Responsibilities

• Teach with Purpose : daily lesson planning, curriculum design, data analysis to support student learning; implement Social Emotional Learning and Restorative Practices to foster an inclusive classroom community.
• Support and Collaboration : work with the school's Leadership Team and Instructional Coach, participate in weekly meetings, and receive ongoing feedback to improve instructional practices.
• Commitment to Anti-Racism : contribute to an anti-racist school community; engage in ongoing development, analyze systems and data, and implement changes to meet community needs.
• Daily lesson planning and long-term planning aligned with KIPP's academic vision and goals.
• Analyze data regularly to identify student trends and inform instructional practices.
• Maintain a positive, rigorous, and engaging classroom environment using Restorative Practices and Social Emotional Learning.
• Communicate with staff, students, families, and other stakeholders to strengthen partnerships.
• Attend weekly Professional Development and Communities of Practice to grow as an educator.
• Update student records (attendance, grades, behavior data, etc.).

Qualifications

Physical, Mental and Environmental Demands

Physical : ability to navigate school and classroom settings, use technology, and occasionally lift / carry equipment 1-20 lbs. Manual dexterity to move and set up materials as needed.

Mental : ability to handle deadlines, analyze problems, work with interruptions, concentrate, read, perform routine math, and recall information.

Environmental : school / classroom environment with possible interruptions; adhere to health and safety guidelines per CDC, CDE, and public health guidance.

Classification

Full-time, exempt position on a school year calendar cycle, located at our school sites.

Compensation

Competitive salary plus comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and transportation benefits. Salary is benchmarked annually against regional districts and charter schools; our Bay Area scale applies to this position.
