Responsibilities
Assess project requirements, break tasks, and collaborate with the design team to determine scope, budget, and staffing.Write scopes of work for electrical design based on preliminary review and client meetings.Present complex engineering analysis clearly and effectively to owners and design teams.Collaborate with owners to define project requirements, conduct building load calculations, analyze power distribution, size equipment, and edit specifications.Document existing conditions, perform complex troubleshooting, and resolve design conflicts and code issues.Prepare engineering studies and schematic design for new systems and analyze operation of existing systems.Work with the building performance team to design and integrate alternative energy sources into electrical distribution.Review drawings and documents to assure compliance with design standards, code compliance, and HGA quality expectations.Research non-routine code issues and obtain interpretations from code officials.Produce sketches and system schematics for complicated design tasks.Prepare engineering opinions of probable cost for electrical systems and review contractor cost estimates.Calculate electrical loads, lighting and power distribution, equipment sizing, and create punch lists.Leverage Revit as a design tool.Assist in education and development of design staff and act as a resource for questions.Qualifications
BS or MS degree in electrical engineering.15+ years of experience designing power systems for healthcare, commercial, and / or government projects.Professional licensure required.Documented experience with a consulting engineering firm or A / E firm providing electrical design.Expertise in NFPA codes and understanding of applicable city, state, federal requirements (Title 24, HCAI, IECC, LEED, ASHRAE).Proficiency with Revit software.Familiarity with electrical analysis software (SKM, Easy Power, Helioscope) and knowledge of current sustainable technologies for commercial electrical systems.Compensation
Salary Range : $101,200 – $134,800. Actual compensation will be based on work experience, education, licensure requirements, and skill level. Eligible employees will participate in HGA's robust benefit programs, including an annual bonus and 401(k) guaranteed contribution.
