Electrician
Groundworks Company is seeking a talented Electrician to join their team in Livonia, MI! The electrician supports our foundation repair, crawlspace encapsulation, and basement waterproofing operations. This role focuses on installing and servicing electrical components that power moisture control systems, sump pumps, dehumidifiers, and lighting in residential settings. The Electrician instructs apprentices on how to perform electrical repairs, ensuring work adheres to the state and local electrical codes and company best practices. The Electrician is responsible for preventing potential safety hazards while supporting the management and mission of the company.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Install dedicated circuits for sump pumps, dehumidifiers, and other moisture control equipment
- Mount and wire light fixtures, outlets, switches, and GFCIs in crawlspaces and basements
- Ensure all electrical work complies with state building codes and standards
- Perform safety checks and troubleshoot minor electrical issues
- Collaborate with waterproofing and encapsulation crews to coordinate installations
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and materials used
- Communicate clearly with homeowners and team members regarding scope of work
- Instructs electrical apprentices on how to perform installation and repair of electrical components and supervises work performed
- Demonstrates consistent and punctual attendance, reporting to work reliably each scheduled workday as an essential function of the role
Qualifications
Valid Journeyman or Master electrical license issued by The Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA)Minimum of 4 years of experience (or 8000 hours) with residential electrical installation, repair, and service experience requiredExperience with waterproofing systems and encapsulation methods preferredMust have a valid, non-restrictive driver's license and meet requirements to become an approved driverAbility to work in crawl spaces, basements, and other confined or damp environmentsExtensive knowledge of local and state building codes and standardsYou must be proficient working with computer software and be detail oriented, focused, and a team playerAbility to follow company policies and procedures, as well as observe safety guidelines and proceduresOSHA 30 Safety Certification preferred
