We are currently seeking a passionate, experienced, and licensed Meck Pre-K Lead Teacher to join our team in Mecklenburg County. This position is responsible for leading a high-quality classroom for 4-year-old children, aligned with Meck Pre-K standards and NC Pre-K guidelines. The ideal candidate is committed to play-based learning, inclusive practices, and strong family engagement.
Key Responsibilities :
- Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate, Creative Curriculum-based program that aligns with the NC Foundations for Early Learning and Development and Meck Pre-K program standards.
- Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active exploration, inquiry, and discovery.
- Conduct daily classroom activities that support all areas of child development, including literacy, math, social-emotional skills, and self-regulation.
- Complete ongoing formative assessments and maintain required documentation using approved Meck Pre-K tools.
- Partner with families to foster engagement and support each child’s learning and well-being.
- Work collaboratively with the teaching assistant and center leadership to ensure compliance with Meck Pre-K and DCDEE regulations.
- Attend all Meck Pre-K professional development trainings, coaching sessions, and classroom observations as required.
- Maintain accurate records and reports in accordance with program guidelines and licensing standards.
Qualifications :
Must meet Meck Pre-K Lead Teacher requirements :A Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field, and
A North Carolina Birth–Kindergarten (BK) license or provisional BK licenseMinimum of 1 year of experience teaching preschool-aged children, preferably in an NC Pre-K or Meck Pre-K classroomDemonstrated knowledge of Creative Curriculum, NC Foundations, and best practices in early childhood educationStrong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skillsCommitment to inclusive, equitable, and culturally responsive teaching practicesMust pass all required background checks, health screenings, and DCDEE requirementsCurrent CPR / First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.Capable of walking, standing, bending, squatting and kneeling for extended periods.Able to move quickly to respond to children's needs and to ensure child safety.Why Join Learning Jungle?
