City University of Seattle in Canada is looking for a qualified Senior Associate Program Director (Manager) to join its outstanding team of faculty and staff in the Master of Counselling program in the School of Health and Social Sciences. Work is hybrid format with on-site activity at Saanich campus. Ideal candidates have post-secondary educational program coordination and administration experience. Candidates have a relevant doctoral degree, are a registered psychologist with clinical experience or counselling professional registered with BCACC or a registered governing body.

Job Summary

Job Summary :

The Senior Associate Program Director reports to the Program Director or designate and is responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of the Master of Counselling program at the Saanich Campus. Key responsibilities include : provides proactive student support, develops teaching faculty, schedules courses and assigns instructors, leads the academic administration team, participates in curriculum and course development, teaches core courses, and actively engages in academic governance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Program Management : Plans, organizes, directs, and monitors local program operations, including scheduling faculty, managing the academic calendar, coordination of program information sessions, contributes to strategic plan development and reporting, and ensures the program meets all regulatory requirements. Manages students supports, program plans, and responses to student concerns. Maintains program currency and leads the effort to review and revise the program to enhance student learning experience.
• Teaching Excellence : Teaches two courses a year or the equivalent, within compensation, as assigned to ensure the quality of program and student learning experience. Models excellence in teaching and learning and fosters student development.
• Performance of Faculty and Staff Management : OverseesAssociate Program Directors, staff, and teaching faculty performance to ensure program quality. Responsible for hiring, developing, evaluating, and managing expectations of faculty and staff. Provides effective orientation, training, mentoring, and coaching for faculty and staff to foster a respectful and empowering learning environment. Oversees the assignment of service to continuing and term faculty, ensures and supports faculty engagement in scholarly activity.
• Curriculum Development and Review : In collaboration with faculty and the PD, ensures the program curriculum aligns with CityU Academic Model and focuses on application and current practice. Ensures alignment of the program with accreditation standards.
• Student Learning and Development : Oversees and advocates for student learning and engagement. Proactively develops students to become responsible, ethical, and self-directed professionals. Oversees interviewing and selecting students for the program, and internship opportunities and capstone.
• Academic and Institutional Governance : Influences academic and institutional governance through leadership and participation on councils and committees. Encourages faculty participation in governance. Supports the Program Director in the development and engagement of the Program Advisory Committee.
• Currency and Scholarship : Models, encourages and promotes scholarship in teaching and learning. Facilitates access to relevant faculty development activities and professional development.
• Service and Outreach : Participates in and promotes professional communities in areas of expertise. Supports the active engagement with stakeholders to inform program relevance, build collaborative relationships and potential partnerships .

Salary information :

$92,000 - $110,000 CAD
