Drywall Installer

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Drywall Installer to join our team. You will be responsible for the hands-on labor involved in hanging, finishing, and repairing drywall in commercial buildings, ensuring a high standard of craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Responsibilities include :

  • Reading blueprints to determine layout and specifications.
  • Measuring and marking drywall panels to fit designated areas.
  • Cutting panels to size using hand or power tools.
  • Attaching drywall to wall studs or ceiling joists using screws or nails.
  • Taping and sealing seams between drywall panels to create a smooth surface.
  • Applying compound and sanding joints to prepare for painting or finishing.
  • Repairing damaged drywall, including patching holes, cracks, and water damage.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment throughout the job site.

Essential Skills :

  • Proficiency in installation and drywall techniques.
  • Ability to work with insulation materials like fiberglass, cellulose, and spray foam.
  • Experience in framing, plaster repair, and using Rockwool insulation.
  • Proficiency in using tape measures, levels, and cutting tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and building codes.
  • Physical stamina and strength to lift and install panels.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications :

  • 9 panel DT certification.
  • BGC certification.
  • Experience with interior and exterior painting, framing, and trim work.

    Work Environment :

    Work hours are Monday to Friday, starting at 6 : 30 AM, with employees meeting at the shop each morning. You will travel in company vehicles to job sites, primarily within 30 miles of the SE Madison shop. Job sites include vacant multi-family apartment complexes and new commercial builds, ensuring a focus on safety and efficiency.

    Job Type & Location :

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Madison, Wisconsin.

    Pay and Benefits :

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
