About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Profession : RN

Specialty : Cath / IR Lab

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Days

Hours per Shift : 40 hours per week

Experience : Minimum of 1 year of experience in Cath Lab / Interventional Radiology required. Preferred 3 years or more.

License : Current and Valid RN License

Certifications : BLS and ACLS required through AHA

Must-Have : Ability to scrub procedures is a must

Description :

Provides direct procedural care for patients in the Cath / IR Lab.

Communicates continuously with the physician and Cath / IR Lab staff about patient condition.

Assists the physician during invasive and noninvasive procedures through monitoring, circulating, and / or scrubbing procedures.

Operates all equipment safely and correctly.

Performs imaging procedures and is responsible for patient safety protocols.

Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities of the Lab.

Supports and maintains a culture of kindness to all.

Focuses on safety, service excellence, and quality.

Must know and abide by standard radiation safety protocols.

May work in other units as a helper when assigned.

Utilizes Siemens imaging systems, Sensis Vibe charting system, and EHR systems.

Uses medication systems and other relevant equipment as needed.

Schedule includes Monday through Friday with on-call requirements.

Works as part of a three-person team in the Cath Lab.

In the IR Lab, team size may vary depending on the procedure.

Floating to assist in other departments is expected as needed.

Typical assignments when floating involve patient support and answering call lights.

Nurse-to-patient ratios are maintained with a minimum of 1 : 1.

Scrubs are provided by the facility.

Orientation includes individualized training based on the candidate's knowledge base.
