JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
Associate Degree in Electronics Technology or Biomedical Engineering is required. Alternatively, military electronics training or intensive vendor training specializing in biomedical and / or scientific equipment may be considered.
Experience
Minimum of 5-9 years experience as a service x-ray engineer or equivalent, with knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job successfully. Experience with service and repair of various imaging equipment is preferred.
Physical Requirements
Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, or kneel for troubleshooting and repairs. Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs., pushing / pulling up to 100 lbs. Good hearing, manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and color vision are necessary. Vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Potential hazards include electrical shock, radiation, chemicals, high-pressure air, and exposure to infectious diseases. This is a safety-sensitive position; refer to the St. Bernards Substance Abuse Policy.
JOB SUMMARY
Performs maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, calibration, and quality control testing of diagnostic imaging equipment. Installs, inspects, analyzes, calibrates, and repairs various patient care devices. Must have working knowledge of computers, multimeter, oscilloscope, high-voltage test equipment, and other electronic testing tools. Works independently, provides training for level 1 service engineers, biomedical technicians, and medical staff, and manages special projects to completion.
