Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Michigan, requiring OB and L&D experience plus current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position is on a 15-bed LDRP unit with 3 triage bays and 2 operating rooms
  • Care includes antepartum, labor and delivery, OR circulating, scrub nurse roles, and couplet care
  • RNs perform lab draws and complete newborn hearing screens using the ALGO 5 Machine
  • Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines
  • Night shift, 4x12 hours, 19 : 00-7 : 30
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Will float within the house as sitter and to nearby L&D or Mother / Baby units as needed
  • Charting via Epic EMR system
  • RNs are responsible for newborn hearing screenings, lab draws, and couplet care
  • Training provided for newborn infant hearing screening procedures
  • Scrubs are provided at no cost
  • No RTO is allowed during the first 8 days of the contract
  • Holiday time off requests are limited to one holiday or one adjacent evening / day
  • Locals are accepted at the same rate, with no radius restriction
  • Travelers are prioritized to float
  • 8-hour self-directed orientation modules are required and completed annually
  • Return staff may be considered if at least 6 months have passed since previous assignment

  • Active MI RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of OB, Mother / Baby, and L&D nursing experience
  • Current BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate or NCC C-EFM certifications required
  • AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
  • Competency in circulating and fetal heart monitoring triage required
  • Scrub nurse experience preferred
  • References required for consideration
  • Proof of flu vaccination or exemption submission within 48 hours of signing contract
