A billing supervisor is any of the professionals licensed to practice independently who are ALSO employed by or under contract with the same provider as the behavioral practitioner under supervision.
A clinical supervisor must have completed the proper training to be able to provide clinical supervision and meet all requirements of a clinical supervisor as required by their board.
1. Promote positivity in the office by planning team building / morale boosting activities within the office. (birthday / holiday celebrations, spirit days, self-care activities etc.)
2. Provide new clinicians with shadowing experience as assigned.
3. Provide peer to peer collaboration within the office.
4. Regularly review and co-sign and date notes recorded by supervisees as assigned.
5. Conduct monthly billing supervision meetings with supervisees as assigned and document appropriately (billing supervisor) and / or weekly clinical supervision and document appropriately (clinical supervisor).
6. Maintain confidentiality of records relating to clients' treatment.
7. Guide clients in the development of skills and strategies for dealing with their problems.
8. Counsel clients and patients, individually and in group sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, and making changes.
9. Collect information about clients through interviews, observation, and tests.
10. Act as client advocates in order to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.
11. Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge and collaboration with other ABH staff members, and update them according to ABH policy.
12. Evaluate clients' physical or mental condition based on review of client information.
13. Meet with families, medication providers, teachers, and other interested parties in order to exchange necessary information during the treatment process.
14. Refer patients, clients, or family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary.
15. Counsel family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with, and supporting clients or patients.
16. Evaluate the effectiveness of counseling programs and clients' progress in resolving identified problems and moving towards defined objectives.
17. Plan, organize and lead structured programs of counseling, work, study, recreation and social activities for clients.
18.Modify treatment activities and approaches as needed in order to comply with changes in clients' status.
19. Learn about new developments in their field by reading professional literature, attending courses and seminars, and establishing and maintaining contact with other social service agencies and maintaining required CEUs according to professional board.
20. Gather information about community mental health needs and resources that could be used in conjunction with therapy.
21. Complete documentation the same day service is delivered.
22. Complete all administrative tasks associated with the position assigned by organizational leadership.
