We are seeking a talented Home Textiles Designer who will lead the design process from product ideation to the final line review. Working under the guidance of the Design Director, you will create beautiful, innovative, and sustainable products that resonate with our brand’s values and support the expansion of core product categories. You’ll collaborate with our Product Development, Merchandising, and Production teams to bring unique and sustainably sourced products to life. A deep passion for home textiles and an appreciation for elevated design practices are essential for this role.
Primary Responsibilities
Research and analyze seasonal trends, colors, and materials to elevate the brand.
Develop product designs that align with seasonal themes and narratives.
Create product artwork in both print and digital formats for line presentations and vendor development.
Manage initial color approvals to ensure alignment with seasonal themes.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to monitor the development of samples and resolve any issues related to fabrics, trims, colors, and specifications.
Generate and maintain tech packages and associated artwork.
Create seasonal visuals representing the current line and new products.
Ensure timely completion of all pre-production activities in line with Coyuchi’s sustainability and quality standards.
Communicate pre-production challenges effectively with internal teams.
Document design processes, seasonal themes, and product attributes to share with the wider team.
Educate team members about current and upcoming products and trends.
Keep the Product Dossier updated, along with Coyuchi Design DNA guidelines.
Participate in hindsight meetings and incorporate feedback into product line development.
Manage timelines and accuracy regarding Go to Market deadlines and hand-offs.
Present the product line during design reviews and seasonal launches.
Support company-wide goals through the creation of unique products and the growth of existing core lines.
Qualifications
Minimum of 4+ years of experience in designing and developing Home Textiles, with a preference for bedding and bath experience.
Bachelor's degree in textile design or a related field is preferred.
Strong understanding of fabric qualities, constructions, and their impact on quality and cost.
Highly curated taste level with an excellent sense of color.
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and familiar with Asana.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
Experience with international communications and collaboration with overseas vendors.
Detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
