REPORTS TO : Principal

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS :

Within the framework of the entire athletic program, provides ongoing development and improvement of coaching student-athletes through coordination, planning, evaluation and implementation of programs.In addition, help each student achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship and an increased level of self-esteem.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :

Ability to establish written rules and regulation

Ability to enforce discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times.

Ability to oversee safety conditions of the facility or areas in which assigned sport event is conducted.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :

Current teachers on staff must have a Bachelor's degree in education or a related field. Must hold a current Coaching Permit issued by the CT State Department of Education, a valid First Aid & CPR certification, and a current Concussion Training or Refresher Course (Module 15).Must complete Mandated Reporter Training and any other required district trainings upon hire.

SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT :

Salary in accordance with HFT contract. Appendix B. Extra Pay for Extra Duty. Section I : Coaching and Physical Education.
