Street Maintenance Division Director
This position is responsible for directing the overall activities of the Street Maintenance Division.
Key responsibilities include :
- Hiring, training, planning, directing, and supervising operations and activities related to the repairs and maintenance of city streets.
- Overseeing additional maintenance requests related to complaints, hazards, and repairs of all roads, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, inlets, and city fencing, as well as directing the daily routes of the City's fuel truck services.
- Reviewing and responding to Georgia's Department of Transportation relating to inspection reports and requests, shoulders work, and all other special projects providing quality city services and employee morale.
- Monitoring and addressing citizen complaints / requests.
- Prioritizing work crews and materials daily.
- Repairing fencing on City property.
- Supporting other divisions as needed.
- Managing annual contracts by grading performance and issuing specifications of service for materials vendors for asphalt, concrete, fencing, tar sealant, and uniforms.
- Establishing and monitoring safety programs in keeping with industry standards.
- Overseeing and administering safety training and CDL training for the Safety program.
- On-call as needed.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.

A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field is required. Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions and to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with one to three years of experience or service. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.

The employee may be exposed to noise, dust, dirt, grease, and machinery with moving parts. The work requires the use of protective devices such as masks, goggles, or gloves.
