Overview
Senior Advisor, US Investment Promotion & Partnerships (AI and Deep Tech within Strategic Industries) — San Francisco, CA. Drive efforts to attract U.S. companies to invest and expand in Sweden, positioning Sweden as a gateway for U.S. innovators into Europe. Engage with senior executives and investors in applied AI, deep tech, advanced manufacturing, dual-use, and space technologies to explore opportunities, invest, and grow in Sweden. This is a client-facing, strategic, and high-visibility role requiring frequent local travel and quarterly international travel to Sweden.
Your Role
- Build and manage a high-quality pipeline of U.S. companies and investors exploring opportunities to expand to Sweden.
- Lead investment dialogues from first contact through project realization.
- Develop compelling business cases showcasing Sweden’s industrial strengths, innovation capacity, and talent base.
- Represent Sweden at leading technology and investment events across the U.S. and Europe.
- Collaborate closely with Team Sweden partners, including embassies, consulates, innovation agencies, and industry leaders.
- Strengthen ecosystem partnerships and drive tangible results for both U.S. companies and the Swedish economy.
- Engage frequently with founders, investors, and global corporations within the transatlantic innovation corridor between Silicon Valley and Sweden.
- Contribute to shaping international investment and innovation strategies in a collaborative, mission-driven team.
- Combine strategic insight with strong relationship-building skills in a dynamic, client-facing environment.
- Travel regularly within the U.S., with quarterly trips to Sweden for collaboration and alignment.
- Support Sweden’s global competitiveness and assist U.S. innovators expanding across Europe.

Formal requirements
Education : Relevant academic degree in business, political science, or related field.Experience : 5+ years in consulting, investment promotion, business development, VC / PE, corporate development, or industry roles within applied AI, deep tech, defense / space, or robotics.Proven success in international business development or investment attraction (FDI), with ability to pitch complex value propositions and convert leads into projects.Experience engaging senior-level decision-makers across corporate, government, and research environments.Strong professional network spanning industry, government, and academia in Sweden and the U.S., or ability to build one quickly.High level of proficiency in written and spoken English.Willingness to travel frequently within the U.S. and quarterly to Sweden for collaboration and alignment.A Plus

Compensation
The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $150,000, depending on location and experience. An expatriate assignment may offer an alternative compensation package aligned with assignment terms.
