Medical Assistant - Denver

The ideal candidate must possess excellent computer skills as we are an electronic medical records based practice. Qualified candidate must have a minimum of two years of relevant experience. This is a position for our office on the Aurora Medical Center. The work week is Monday-Friday, with flexible schedule options available, includes a 4 day work week.
We offer excellent benefits, generous paid time off plan and highly competitive pay, starting at $21 - $23 per hour commensurate with experience. Bi-lingual pay may be offered. Employment is contingent on successful completion of pre-employment screening and background check. The position will remain posted until filled.
Responsibilities and Duties :
- Greet patients and perform Check-in and Check-out procedures in an accurate and timely manner
- Room patients, process urine specimens, and take vitals
- Process patient payments and perform billing payment entry
- Prepare payment batches and maintain accurate office money and cash transactions
- Schedule patient appointments
- Perform medication, test and procedure authorizations
- Distribute notes and information to outside providers / entities when needed
- Prepare for patient office visits and prepare lab work in patient charts
- Maintain appointment waitlist and schedule waitlist appointments whenever possible
- Scan and attach patient medical records and administrative documents in EMR
- Utilize and maintain office communication through Outlook, calendars and task reminder
- Review and process incoming faxes, and flow labs that are not electronically sent
- Make patient reminder calls for lab work two weeks prior to patient appointments
- Cross coverage of other duties as needed & other duties as assigned
Essential Skills and Experience :
Completion of a certified Medical Assistant education program and have a minimum of two years of relevant MA experienceHigh school diploma or GEDProfessionalism in appearance, behavior, and communicationExpected to communicate in a precise and clear manner, verbally and in writingWorks with others in a cooperative and supportive mannerDisplays patience and compassion in all patient interactionsAbility to effectively multitask in a fast paced environmentPossess an intermediate skill level with Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookAbility to navigate the internet proficientlyProficient with general math skillsExpected to function at a high level of efficiency without constant supervision and also work as part of a teamPossess a valid driver's license with a good MVRBenefits :
