We are headquartered in the Historic Home of Robert Sellwood (est. 1907) in the heart of the Sellwood neighborhood and have offices in North Portland and Westside in Beaverton near Washington Square. SMC has been providing exceptional compassionate care for over twenty-two years. We promote work / life balance and seeking to add full-time Medical Assistants to our exceptional family practice clinical team.

    LOCATION : Sellwood, Beaverton, North Portland : Availability at all locations in PDX metro

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

    1. Room Patients quickly and efficiently and tidy rooms between patients.

    2. Support providers and assist medical staff.

    3. Comply with HIPAA regulations at all times.

    4. Work with staff on letters to patients, expiring orders, etc.

    5. Schedule patients for appointments and help with phones as needed.

    6. Learn quality metrics and schedule patients accordingly.

    7. Answer patients phone calls and messages in a timely manner.

    8. Maintain high level of confidentiality.

    9. Participate as a team member to assist and train others as needed.

    10. Work medical reception as needed or assigned

    11. Work respectfully and collaboratively in a team environment.

    12. Be punctual and attend work regularly as scheduled.

    EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :

    • Current Medical Assistant Certification or working towards
    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Current CPR Certification
    • EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS PREFERRED :

    • 1 year previous MA experience in medical office.
    • Compassionate, patient, and respectful team player
    • Excellent oral communication skills and excellent phone etiquette.
    • Job Types :

      Pay : $22.00 - $27.00 per hour

    • Monday to Friday
    • Possible Saturday rotation 1-2 per month (8 : 45 3 : 15 possibly full time in winter)
    • Experience :

    • Medical Office : 1 year (Required)
    • Family Medicine : 1 year (Preferred)
    • Vital signs : 1 year (Required)
    • License / Certification :

    • Certified Medical Assistant (Required)
