Clinical Risk Manager – Springfield, OR

  • ?? Location : PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend

PeaceHealth is seeking an experienced Clinical Risk Manager to join the Risk Management team at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Springfield, Oregon. This is a great opportunity for a professional with strong risk management, compliance, and patient safety expertise to support both inpatient and outpatient operations.

Schedule : Day shift | Monday–Friday | 9 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM | Onsite (with some on-call hours)

Assignment Length : 13 weeks

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer risk management activities across assigned facilities.
  • Investigate and respond to incidents, patient grievances, and potential claims.
  • Support patient safety initiatives, event reviews, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitate reviews of sentinel events, unanticipated outcomes, and EMTALA investigations.
  • Serve as a liaison with leadership teams, quality leaders, and committees to implement risk reduction strategies.
  • Analyze data trends, recommend mitigation strategies, and prepare reports for leadership.
  • Provide training and education related to risk management and patient safety.

    • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in Healthcare, Nursing, Business, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical risk management experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of state, federal, and accreditation requirements (e.g., CMS Conditions of Participation, OSHA, EMTALA, HIPAA).
  • Strong communication and analytical skills; proficiency in MS Office.
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) required within 18 months of hire.
  • Ability to participate in on-call coverage.

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with administrative and quality data, including statistical analysis.
  • Familiarity with state healthcare rules, statutes, and licensing requirements.
