The City of Eugene Public Works Department is seeking a collaborative, innovative, effective and engaged leader to fill the position of City Engineer. The City Engineer oversees all activities of the Engineering Division, including design and construction of capital projects, transportation planning, water resources management, GIS, surveying, and development review. This is a full-time position that works under the general direction of the Public Works Director.

Department : Public Works / Engineering Division

Salary Range : $68.33 - $92.22 / hourly; $142,126.40 - $191,817.60 / annually

Responsibilities

  • Oversees all activities of the Engineering Division, including design and construction of capital projects, transportation planning, water resources management, GIS, surveying, and development review.
  • Works under the general direction of the Public Works Director.

A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be :

  • Experience : Seven years of increasingly responsible professional civil engineering experience including two years of supervisory and administrative responsibility.
  • Education : Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering or a related field. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
  • License or Certificate : Possession of a certificate of registration as a professional civil engineer in the State of Oregon, or ability to obtain by reciprocity.
