Primary Function

The primary function of the Controls and Automation Sales Specialist is to generate profitable growth of the Andritz controls service business for the region.

Reporting Structure

The Sales Specialist reports locally to the Manager of the Service Product Group and globally to the Controls and Automation Product Manager. The Sales Specialist will work and coordinate with the Service Automation and Controls Manager

Responsibilities

  • Make sales calls independently and with the Area Sales Manager to identify, develop and close sales opportunities
  • Responsible for detailed proposals when required and assembly of bid packages, maintain large quote volume.
  • Develop strategies to grow service business in the region
  • Develop enhanced and new service offerings in the region
  • Responsible for sales forecasting, budget and cost control
  • Support the Area Sales Managers with product knowledge, technical expertise and pricing
  • Support the back offices (inside Sales, Purchasing, Project Management) with parts identification, vendor information, costing and pricing
  • Support the Field Service Group with technical expertise, troubleshooting and costing
  • Support Engineering with design information, historical reference, project review and design review
  • Support customers with troubleshooting, problem resolution and performance improvement recommendations
  • Provide training materials and product training to field sales, back office personnel and customers
  • Provide technical, sales and service bulletins and other information to develop the knowledge of the Andritz service group
  • Provide input for development of the product regionally and globally (Marketing materials, R&D, problem solving, cost reduction, business growth etc.)
  • Maintain product related technical information
  • Implement and support global product strategies within the region
  • Coordinate / Project Manage complex service offerings

Must be familiar with industrial controls and their application for use in all types of industrial process equipment. This should include :

  • Knowledge of safety systems and requirements for industrial equipment
  • Familiar with Electrical code requirements, Area classification, NEMA and IEC standards
  • Experience with Industrial control - drive controllers, PLC systems, operator Interface controls, Field sensors (flow, speed, torque, pressure, temperature, etc…)
  • Travel

    The Product Specialist will travel 40 to 60% of the time in support of sales, field service and customers.

    Education and Experience

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering or 5 -10 years relevant hands on product experience
  • 5 years sales or sales support experience
  • Some experience with IT / communications
  • A past history of travel in previous employement
  • Willingness to travel (overnight travel required)
  • Must be familiar with industrial controls and their application for use in all types of industrial process equipment. This should include :
