Chief Nursing Officer – Indio, CA
Compensation : $150,000–$230,000 annually (depending on experience)
Position Overview :
We are seeking an experienced Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to provide strategic leadership as the senior executive responsible for all nursing and designated patient care functions across the facility. This role holds 24 / 7 accountability for ensuring high-quality, safe, and efficient care, as well as clinical staff competency and appropriate resource management. The CNO will represent nursing concerns on the governing board and medical staff leadership meetings.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for nursing and patient care services.
- Oversee staffing, recruitment, retention, and employee development programs.
- Drive quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and performance metrics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Manage budgetary and resource allocation processes for nursing services.
- Lead shared governance and decision-making to promote a patient-centered environment.
- Represent nursing in strategic planning, quality initiatives, and organizational governance.
- Support technology integration, including EMR adoption and performance improvement.
Qualifications :
Minimum 5 years of progressive management experience as an Associate CNO or Nursing Director over multiple complex departments.Proven leadership, communication, and operational expertise.Strong labor relations background.Experience working with unionsExperience working in for-profit hospital settingsDemonstrated ability to lead teams, drive organizational change, and ensure regulatory compliance.Education & Certifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required; Master’s in Nursing or related field (Health Administration, Business, Public Health, or Management) required.Active and unrestricted RN license in the state of practice required.CENP or NEA certification preferred.Professional Attributes :
