Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position in Washington, requiring at least two years of neuro ICU experience and a WA or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
Work in a Neuro ICU with high-acuity neuro and general ICU patients, including sepsis, respiratory failure, DKA, GI bleeds, and COVID casesTypical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 2; ratios may be 1 : 4 for downgraded patientsNight shift with 3x12 or 4x12 hour options availableUse of ventilators, EVDs, bolts, pacemakers, thermoregulation equipment, and NxStage CRRTEMR system used is EpicFloating between like units, including PCU, MS / Tele, and MS Neuro, is requiredWeekend shifts required every other weekendNo on-call responsibilitiesDeliver advanced nursing care to critically ill neurological and general ICU patientsRequired to float to other units within the nurse's skill set as neededStrong neuro experience is highly preferredComprehensive orientation provided prior to independent practiceHoliday coverage may be required as scheduledAll time-off requests (RTO) must be included at the time of application; no additional time off will be accommodated after submissionProfessional scrubs are requiredReliable transportation is necessaryMust complete all compliance and onboarding requirements within 72 hours of accepting an offerRequirements
Active WA or compact RN license required at the time of applicationMinimum of 2 years recent experience in neuro ICU or comparable high-acuity ICU settingCurrent certifications required : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; CCRN preferredEpic EMR experience requiredTwo supervisory references covering one year of employment within the past three years must be providedFirst-time travelers will be consideredApplicants with permanent residence within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this travel positionFormer perm staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside the 50-mile radiusBenefits
