Hybrid Staff Accountant Opportunity in Baltimore
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to oversee various accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies and regulations. This role involves managing accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and supporting grant-related activities.
Responsibilities
- Manage Accounts Payable activities, including invoice processing, vendor account maintenance, and expense report review.
- Oversee Payroll processing activities, ensuring compliance with payroll regulations and company policies.
- Handle Accounts Receivable activities, including preparing invoices, applying payments, and maintaining aging accounts.
- Prepare schedules to support grants, programs, and donor-related activities.
- Assist with fixed asset inventory and recordkeeping.
- Analyze workflow processes and recommend improvements.
- Perform account maintenance, prepare accounting schedules, reconciliations, and record entries.
- Prepare documentation and reports for Executive Management, Department Heads, and the Board of Directors.
Essential Skills
Strong experience in BS Reconciliation.Proficient in Journal Entry preparation.Experience with cash deposits and cash reporting.3+ years of corporate accounting experience.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field.2-4 years of accounting experience, including transactions, reconciliations, and variance reports.Proficiency in commercial accounting systems, including Abila MIP and SAGE Intacct.Skilled in Microsoft Office, with expertise in Excel.Experience in Accounts Receivable and / or Accounts Payable.Preferred experience in Healthcare or Nonprofit sectors.Preferred experience with grants.The position offers a hybrid work environment, requiring two days on-site per week.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baltimore, Maryland.
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00 / hr.
