Job Description

Position Title : Associate Director of Business Development

Department : Business Development

Reports To : President / Chief Executive Officer or designee

HOURS :

8 per Day / 5 Days per Week

CATEGORIES OF DUTIES

1. Manage Care Contracts

1.1. Maintain managed care contracts.

1.2. Maintain, analyze, and evaluate business related to those contracts.

1.3. Increase and maintain current contact rates where indicated (some joint responsibility).

1.4. Problem resolution pertaining to Managed Care Accounts.

1.5. Assist as needed with accounts receivable collections.

2. Responsible for increasing Private Insurance and Private Pay business.

3. Develop and maintain relationships with :

3.1. Health Plans and Managed Care Companies

3.2. Hospital Management Teams

3.3. Medical Groups

3.4. Self-Insured Employers

4. Problem resolution pertaining to Private Pay and Private Insurance.

5. Assist in problem resolution related to Private Pay and Private Insurance patients as needed.

6. Co-Chair Business Development Meeting

6.1. Prepare statistical information on admissions, length of stay, and other utilization data for Business Development Meeting.

6.2. Participate in presentation.

7. Collaborates with Community Liaisons to identify and determine marketing targets.

8. Ensures Tarzana Treatment Centers’ image continuity is carried throughout company in ads, signs, and marketing materials.

9. Develops marketing tools working with others and ensures everything conforms to company image.

10. Advertising Creation and Contracting for Advertising Space

10.1. Flyers

10.2. Publications

10.3. External Mailing Pieces

10.4. Other Ads for Various Organizations

10.5. Printed Marketing Material – supervise all aspects

10.6. Supervise photography to be used in company marketing materials.

11. Review Internal Account Marketing Activity

11.1. Maintain relationships with those making referrals and account satisfaction.

11.2. Internet marketing 11.3. Negotiate contract for advertising.

11.4. Monitor inquiries to see if they are handled correctly.

11.5. Advertising design creation

11.6. Work closely with admissions, navigation and assessment, patient accounts, and referral teams.

11.7. Work closely with treatment teams as needed for problem resolution with private patients.

12. Supervise All Aspects of Public Relations

12.1. Work with media all types.

12.2. Continue to be primary company contact and liaison for staff and media.

12.3. Assist with set up and arrange all TV and print interviews.

13. Mailing Lists

13.1. Update account contact information (a joint responsibility).

13.2. Purchase outside mailing lists (therapists, etc.).

14. Promotional Items

14.1. Obtain quotes for promotional items.

14.2. Seek approval for purchase of promotional items.

15. Responsible for maintaining image of the company in :

15.1. In-services, training programs, outreach, marketing activities

15.2. Direct campaign efforts focused at doctors and medical groups

15.3. External contact where needed

16. External Marketing in Areas Appropriate to Investigate

16.1. Examples : relationships with other treatment providers, other hospitals that make referrals, the legal community, and employers.

16.2. Develops direct mail campaigns and training programs.

16.3. Focus on managed care, professional, medical, and legal community, and others.

17. Telephone System

17.1. As needed, record telephone prompts.

17.2. Make sure all location information is accurate and similar.

18. Mass Mailing / Flyer / Promotional Item Distribution Programs

19. Sponsor – Community Awareness Strategic Planning Process

19.1. Meetings

19.2. Marketing

19.3. Directors

19.4. Supervisors

19.5. Managed Care

19.6. Strategic Planning

20. Other responsibilities to be determined by President and CEO.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
  • Three (3) years in a supervisory capacity in healthcare, with experience in substance use and mental health services and contracting with health plans, medical groups etc.
