About the Role
Our client, a fast-growing plaintiff-side employment law firm founded by a former big law attorney, is seeking an experienced FEHA litigation attorney to join their lean, high-performing team.
This is a fully remote position with no strict billable hour requirements and complete flexibility. You'll manage a meaningful caseload, move quickly, and operate independently without bureaucracy or micromanagement.
The firm combines the strategic rigor of a big law background with the autonomy and agility of a boutique practice. They focus exclusively on serious employment matters and are expanding rapidly due to high demand.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of 25 to 30 active FEHA matters from intake through discovery
Take and defend depositions regularly
Draft motions, lead aggressive discovery, and drive toward favorable settlements
Attend occasional court hearings or in-person depositions as needed
Operate independently while contributing to a collaborative, remote-first team
Case Types You'll Handle
Wrongful termination
Disability, pregnancy, gender, racial, age, and religious discrimination
Sexual harassment
Retaliation claims
Hostile work environment

Whistleblower protection
Employment contract disputes
Severance agreement review
Independent contractor misclassification
Family and Medical Leave (FMLA / CFRA)
Wage and hour violations (unpaid overtime, missed breaks)
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of California FEHA litigation experience (plaintiff-side preferred)
Strong deposition and motion practice experience
Ability to manage cases independently from start to finish
Licensed and in good standing with the California Bar
Assertive, strategic, and confident working with opposing counsel
Bonus Points For

Demonstrated longevity in prior roles (no job hoppers)
Based in Southern California (though candidates across CA will be considered)
