Summary
Our client, a global leader in manufacturing, is seeking an Operations Manager – Procurement & Supply Chain to lead plant procurement operations in Dover, NJ. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, this role provides leadership to procurement specialists and planners while ensuring alignment with business unit goals. The Operations Manager will drive supplier strategy, contract negotiations, inventory accuracy, and Oracle ERP process execution. This is a forward-facing leadership role requiring excellent communication with internal stakeholders, strong Oracle / system skills, and hands-on manufacturing experience.
Responsibilities
Lead all plant procurement operations including direct, indirect, and capital spend.Provide leadership and coaching to procurement specialists and supply chain planners.Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Finance to align procurement with BU objectives.Develop and execute supplier sourcing, contract negotiations, and agreements.Monitor supplier performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective measures.Drive Oracle-related procurement processes, enhancements, and reporting.Oversee raw material forecasting, inventory accuracy, BOM analysis, and cycle count programs.Track and report plant procurement metrics; implement action plans to meet KPIs.Ensure compliance with auditing standards including AS9100, SOX, and Import / Export laws.Lead project teams and initiatives to improve procurement processes and plant supply chain performance.Promote EH&S compliance and maintain a strong safety culture across procurement functions.Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or related field.6+ years of procurement or supply chain experience.Knowledge of procurement and financial best practices (SOX, UCC, Import / Export laws).U.S. person status per ITAR requirements.Preferred
Procurement experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment .Proven ability to negotiate complex contracts for goods / services.Strong Oracle (or equivalent ERP) experience.Hands-on presence in plant / production settings with customer-facing communication skills.High integrity, ethics, and ability to manage competing priorities effectively.EEO Statement
