Maintenance Technician I job at Otis College of Art and Design, Goldsmith Campus - Westchester campus, Los Angeles, CA.
Responsibilities
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of the Otis facilities, grounds and all of the campus buildings. Work orders will be assigned daily, to maintain and ensure the day to day functioning of the facilities. The level and complexity of the work assignments will be commensurate with the level of the individual's skills and abilities as well as the availability of other staff. This position reports directly to the Facilities Manager.
- General plumbing, electrical, heating, and air conditioning repairs.
- Painting, carpentry, and light construction.
- Furniture moving and replacing lights; repair of equipment and furniture.
- Maintain campus grounds and planted areas as needed - Work closely with Landscape vendor
- Any other maintenance or repair activities necessary to keep the campus facilities in good, safe working order.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School diplomaTwo to three years maintenance experienceBasic knowledge of electrical repairs, plumbing, carpentry, grounds keeping, and general building repairsReliable personal vehicle available that is appropriate for work-related assignmentsProvide own tools for general repairs.Preferred Skills and Experience
Trade school courses in maintenance, electrical or related fields preferredExperience in the trades - Painting, Plumbing, Electrical, CarpentryAbility to handle varied tasks - Trades related tasks, Trash pick up and disposal, pressure washing, Furniture assembly, order and supply delivery and stocking, general maintenance building repairsAbility to plan and execute small projects with little supervisionFLSA Status : Non-Exempt
Compensation Type : Hourly Wage
Salary Range : 23.72 - 28.19
