Current Salary is $19.18 per hour. Position Summary :
- KQED Creative is seeking a motivated and curious Project Management Intern to help reimagine how our creative team brings ideas to life.
- You’ll dive behind the scenes of one of the Bay Area’s leading nonprofit media organizations to help redesign our internal project management system—bridging creativity, technology, and innovation.
- Working closely with the Creative Director, you’ll audit workflows, explore cutting-edge AI tools, and help shape smarter systems that streamline how great stories move from concept to audience.
- Your work will directly influence how KQED Creative collaborates, creates, and delivers impactful content across every platform.
Essential Functions :
Conduct research and exploration to inform the Creative Director’s design of a new, AI-enhanced project management system for KQED Creative.Assist in auditing the current Creative Team’s project management workflows (intake, review, and delivery).Support the Creative Director to interview clients to gather metrics and learn about the impact of their projects.Document processes step-by-step and record team pain points.Flag workflows / projects that may be outdated, duplicative, or low-value for potential sunsetting.Research AI tools and plugins that could integrate with JIRA.Compile findings into comparison charts (features, compatibility, cost, pros / cons).Support the Creative Director in helping map AI features to current ticket intake workflows.Support the Creative Director to work with IT to ensure AI tools will integrate with the existing data stack.Assist with pilot testing by entering sample data and requests.Organize and synthesize feedback from team members.Draft simple training guides and quick-reference sheets.Maintain organized project files, notes, and research summaries.Knowledge / Experience Required :
Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.Strong organizational and analytical skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.Detail-oriented, curious, and eager to learn.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Knowledge / Experience Desired :
Familiarity with AI productivity tools.Familiarity with project management tools or software (exposure to JIRA is a plus).Knowledge of public media (enthusiasm / nerdiness is a plus!).Experience with workflow documentation or basic project coordination.Growth & Development Opportunities :
