Safety Coordinator
DATTCO is currently hiring a full-time Safety Coordinator for our School Bus Safety Department in Southwest Connecticut. This position will support our school bus terminals in Greenwich, New Canaan, Westport and Bridgeport.

Primary Responsibilities :
Responsible for oversight of established School Bus Safety Department dutiesAbility to write narrative reports, event summaries, and activity reportsHave excellent computer and interpersonal skillsAbility to navigate several vehicle-based IT camera systemsCoordinate and supervise activities of assigned safety trainers / driver coachesCompletion of applicant on-boarding process, document completion, driver training, road evaluations, accident response / investigation and drug collectionAssist drivers with understanding safety policies and complianceAbility to transition from differing tasksAbility to work independentlyResponsible for timely review, response, and reporting of accidents, safety related issues and recorded eventsWork collaboratively with all Operations and Safety staff to further overall safety and operational goalsReports directly to a District Safety Manager or School Bus Safety DirectorPosition Requirements :
Minimum two years as a school bus driver with previous two years accident free driving recordMinimum one year as a School Bus Safety TrainerStrong audio / visual / electronics systems knowledgeAbility to communicate effectively with drivers, management and coworkersHave and maintain a valid school bus driver's license and medical cardExcellent problem-solving skillsAcquire and retain safety related information for accurate disseminationAbility to conduct both in-person and virtual training sessionsQualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, protected veteran status and any other protected classes.
