American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift ICU position requiring a current CA RN license and advanced cardiovascular certifications.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a 20-bed ICU / CCU in an acute care hospital settingNight shifts are 12 hours from 7pm to 7 : 30am, with every other weekend requiredNurses are required to float to IMCU (stepdown) or Observation as neededNurses monitor neuro, cardiac, and post-surgical cases including craniotomies, carotids, ventriculostomies, ICP monitoring, open heart, post-caths, impellas, and balloon pumpsPatient ratios are typically 1 : 2, may be 1 : 1 for higher acuityIV drips managed include vasoactive medications (vaso, levophed, norepinephrine, propofol, fentanyl, etc.)Ventilator management requiredEMR is Cerner; prior experience preferred but not requiredSelf-scheduling is utilized but not always guaranteedNurses are responsible for strip interpretation and management of vasoactive dripsSupport from charge nurse and nurse aides during certain shiftsRT and pharmacy support available 24 / 7Travelers may take post-open heart and balloon pump patients if skills are validatedScrub color is navyThree shifts of unit-specific orientation are providedHoliday coverage follows facility rotation and typically includes one major and one minor holidayPrevious direct employees of the health system in the past year are not eligibleFirst-time travelers will be consideredNo CRRT or ECMO\n \n Requirements\n
Active CA RN license required at time of consideration; compact or pending licenses are not acceptedMinimum of 3 years' current ICU experience is requiredCertifications required : BLS, ACLS, NIHSSPALS certification preferred but not mandatoryMust be able to interpret cardiac rhythms; no monitor tech support providedRecent neuro or cardiac ICU experience is welcomeTwo clinical references required : one supervisor from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 yearsMust provide a copy of a valid driver’s license for consideration\n Benefits\n
