Senior Financial Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst who will play a pivotal role in providing financial analysis that will help guide business decisions of our Senior Leaders. This is an incredible opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with financial, operational, and strategic leadership in a matrix reporting environment with multiple stakeholders across different internal groups. We are looking for candidates with a strong planning and analysis background with an understanding of the fundamentals of general accounting. Experience within the biotech / life sciences industry is a plus. This role will report to our AD, FP&A and will be a San Diego based / on-site role.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities :

  • Establish solid business partnership with key business functions and provide analytical support and financial guidance to help with various business decisions : this includes developing new analyses and improving reports and metrics to better support business partners' decision-making process
  • Manage, improve and streamline the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process for the team, including operating expense, headcount, and capital expenditures
  • Closely align with Accounting function month end processes
  • Create standardized reporting packages to effectively communicate relevant information
  • Develop process improvements for scaling the finance department and implement in collaboration with other FP&A team members

Education and Experience :

  • Minimum of a Bachelors Degree (Master's is preferred) with 5+ years of relevant experience in a finance role
  • Experience in biotech or life sciences industry a plus
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills / modeling
  • Proven track record in business partner or corporate FP&A role
  • Ability to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required
  • Demonstrated success working in a deadline driven and multi-task, fast-paced environment

  • Base Compensation Pay Range :

  • $104,000 - $137,000
  • In addition to base compensation noted above, you will be eligible for stock options, discretionary annual bonus, no cost health insurance plans, 401k with company match, and flexible paid time off. Please note : Base compensation will depend on multiple factors, including geographic location, qualifications, and experience.
