Position Purpose / Important Application Information
Under general supervision of the Marketing & Cultural Affairs Administrator, the PRL Digital Media Specialist develops strategies that support the desired content, voice and style for the organization’s online presence including the City’s website, social media platforms, e-newsletters, customer service platforms, digital advertising, as well as emerging methods of community engagement. This person will be a strong writer and storyteller, capable of capturing video / stills, and able to perform basic graphic design and video editing for integration with social media and website content. In addition to writing, editing, designing and proofreading site content, this position works closely with Parks, Recreation, & Libraries staff to strategize social media campaigns, maintain site / social media standards and usability to enhance the City’s digital interactions with the community, and ensure best practices and quality control.
Westminster Parks, Recreation & Libraries manages more than 6,600 acres of parks and open space, 125 miles of trails, seven recreation facilities, two libraries, two championship golf courses, numerous community events, and a multitude of programs for individuals of all ages, abilities, and interests.
This position is open to current City of Westminster, Colorado employees only. The starting range of pay depends on qualifications and experience. The City of Westminster has a Multilingual Stipend Program to encourage and reward benefited employees who are conversationally fluent in languages other than English. Benefited employees have the opportunity to test language proficiency and qualify for a bi-weekly stipend that varies based on proficiency and usage.

Required
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications / Public Relations, or related field from an accredited college or universityProfessional experience with at least three years in marketing / communications focused on digital, social and / or new / emerging mediaPreferred

Physical Requirements
