About The Role

To serve Braven's ambition of helping 80,000-100,000 Fellows over the next decade, Braven is hiring the Head of Employer Partnerships. You will lead corporate fundraising, recruit employees from partners to volunteer, and open access to internship and job opportunities for Fellows. You will cultivate new national employer partners, manage high-stakes existing partnerships, and lead the Employer Partnerships team (6 full-time staff) to strong outcomes. The role is on the External Affairs team and reports to the Chief External Affairs Officer.

What You'll Do Strategic Leadership & Growth (30%)

  • Set and lead Braven's org-wide employer partnership strategy to enable employers to contribute 50% of core model revenue and 50% of volunteers, and provide Fellows access to internships and job opportunities.
  • Coordinate with internal subteams to align with program and revenue needs
  • Integrate employer partnership goals across the enterprise
  • Analyze partnership data to identify patterns and drive solutions
  • Lead the design and implementation of new strategies and operations using product development and change management best practices

Partnership Development & External Relations (40%)

  • Manage a portfolio of high-stakes, shared-value relationships with national employer partners
  • Provide thought partnership to local teams in six regions
  • Prospect and cultivate new national partners and partners in expansion regions
  • Adapt our partnership approach to build a robust portfolio in the social impact and public sectors
  • Ensure Braven remains a leader in the field, raising Braven's brand through thought leadership, media, public speaking, and events
  • Team Leadership & Talent Development (20%)

  • Coach 6 team members to achieve professional growth and organizational goals
  • Foster a high-performance culture within the Employer Partnerships team
  • Operational Excellence & Impact Measurement (10%)

  • Oversee new systems and processes for data collection and progress monitoring
  • Ensure operational efficiency and continuous improvement through data-driven decision-making
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Requirements Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years leading corporate partnerships for a nonprofit or leading a corporate sales team
  • 5+ years managing teams to strong outcomes
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of professional experience
  • 3-5 years managing multi-million dollar corporate partnerships or sales
  • Entrepreneurial thinker in fast-paced environments with ambiguity and organizational change
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to build external and internal relationships and tailor approaches to stakeholders
  • Ambitious, measurable goal-setter with action orientation
  • Proactive, data-driven problem solver and decision-maker
  • Ability to hold others accountable while maintaining care and context
  • Detail-oriented with big-picture focus
  • Willingness to reflect, learn from upward feedback, and contribute to an inclusive culture

    Work Demands

  • Ability to work in-person in Atlanta (GA), Chicago (IL), New York (NY), Newark (NJ)
  • Travel 8-10 times per year for several days at a time
  • Work after hours 5-7 nights per semester for org-wide volunteer events, regional site visits, or other stakeholder engagement events

    Benefits & Compensation

    Braven offers competitive base salaries based on market benchmarks for nonprofits, with opportunities for growth. Salary offers are determined using external and internal benchmarking. Geographic ranges for this role are : Atlanta $154,500-$193,100; Chicago $163,200-$204,000; New York & Newark $179,600-$224,400. This is a full-time exempt position with benefits. Benefits include :

  • Unlimited vacation plus holidays and two shutdown periods
  • 401K match up to 5%
  • Health insurance coverage for employee and dependents (85%)
  • 12 weeks paid parental leave
  • One-month paid sabbatical after 4 years

    Location

    We gather in the office 3 days a week (Tue-Thu) and work remotely 2 days a week; at least two flex days per week for remote work.
