Overview

We seek a highly skilled Senior Scientific Writer / Editor to lead the development of technical documentation for workshops, meetings, and scientific sessions. This role is ideal for a seasoned communicator who can synthesize complex scientific and technical information into clear, actionable content for federal audiences and the public.

Responsibilities

• Serve as lead author and integrator for workshop and meeting documentation.
• Establish document structure, templates, and review cadence.
• Consolidate topic inputs and draft white papers.
• Coordinate document reviews with the Project Manager.
• Manage references and version control.
• Provide live capture during workshops and oversee note-taking.
• Maintain decisions-and-actions logs with assigned owners and due dates.
• Build draft reports from session outputs and platform exports.
• Incorporate client and committee feedback into final deliverables.
• Produce executive summaries and final reports.
• Collaborate with graphics staff to prepare figures and tables.
• Apply Section 508 formatting to ensure accessibility.
• Translate technical findings into policy recommendations and plain-language summaries.
