Responsibilities Outpatient imaging setting with rotation between two sites Responsible for all breast imaging and DEXA (bone density) procedures Uses Hologic mammography equipment Monday to Friday shifts from 8 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM with weekend shifts 1-2 times per month (8 : 00 AM to noon) May require rotating between locations in Portsmouth and Suffolk, VA No dysrhythmia exam required Performs screening, diagnostic, invasive breast imaging procedures, and DEXA scans following established protocols Assists radiologists during invasive breast procedures while ensuring aseptic technique and proper patient consent Carefully documents and communicates clinical history and exam details to the supervising physician Participates in departmental quality assessments and improvement initiatives Applies radiation protection and patient safety principles throughout examinations Patient education and discharge instructions are provided as needed Must pass a pass / fail EKG test on the first day, with two attempts allowed; study guides provided Scrubs or dress code details not specified Applicants must live at least 50 miles from either work location to qualify as a traveler Local candidates are accepted at a reduced rate Requirements ARRT (R)(M) certification in mammography required Minimum of one year experience as a registered mammography technologist Experience with breast imaging, biopsies, and / or bone density required Current VA state licensure required if applicable BLS certification from the American Heart Association required prior to direct patient care Associate’s degree from an ARRT-accredited program is preferred Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-583627.
